About Us

Gyan Adhar Welfare Society is a leading NGO in Delhi working for underprivileged/marginalized women, differently abled people, elderly people and for protection of environment. It was set up in the year 2012 and is registered under the Societies’ Registration Act of 1860.
Gyan Adhar Welfare Society is registered (No. DL/2020/0254609) with NGO DARPAN of NITI Aayog, Govt, of India. The Society is a Member of District Advisory Committee Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (Prohibition of sex selection Act-1994) at District Appropriate Authority, NW – DM Office Complex, Kanjhawala, Delhi-110081
During the past 8 years, Gyan Adhar has achieved remarkable success in various projects through a dedicated team of volunteers from different fields (e.g. legal luminaries, medical professionals, educationists, IT experts, etc.). The volunteers’ team is always eager to work in any situation and try to perform its social obligation towards our nation. There are number of success stories. Whenever there is any disaster or natural calamity in Delhi, our team always comes forward to help needy people in all possible ways. There were havoc fire tragedies in slum clusters in many parts of Delhi. Our volunteers immediately reached the site and helped the people in their rehabilitation. It was always our endeavor to provide people all basic needs like ration, clothes, stationery and books to children and necessary medical aid. We, time to time, raise their issues before the authorities’ concerned for their legal rights.
Our aim is to start study centers and vocational training centers in every slum areas of Delhi especially for girls and differently abeled children who are usually deprived of basic health and education in our society. Our motto is to bring them in main stream by providing them all facilities which every child deserve. As a pilot project, Gyan Adhar has started 4 such centers in Shalimar Bagh (in North West Delhi) which has around 250 students. We time to time organize educational tours, painting competition, yoga and meditation workshops, self defense camps, workshops on health & hygiene, good touch and bad touch, personality development session, rallies on social issues, organizing drives on plantation, environment, cleanliness, saving girl child (every year a weekly programme is organized on Beti Bachao Beti Badhao theme). Legal aid camps are also being organized in many slum areas.
On many occasions, we have associated with many reputed organizations/institutions in performing their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR Projects) – Tata Power DDL, Fortis Hospital, Delhi Police (Self Defense Camp and Workshops on Good Touch and Bad Touch), Hon’ble DM Office (PC-PNDT initiatives), Farishtey Scheme –Good Samaritan Scheme of Government of Delhi NCT., Delta Cooling Towers P.
